He studied Sciences of Education and now is a civil servant in the area of culture of the Mancomunidad de Municipios Los Pedroches, north of Córdoba (Spain). He began writing very early and up to now he has produced several acclaimed poetry books, which have been recognized with important prizes such as the Nacional San Juan de la Cruz, the Rafael Alberti, the José Hierro, the Ciudad de Badajoz, the Andalucía Award, or the Critics Award. The most recent one id the Premio Ciudad de Salamanca. Besides poetry for adults he also writes poetry for children and fiction. Six novels up to now: “La dehesa iluminada” (1990), “La mirada sepia” (1994), “La bóveda de cuarzo” (1996), “Bruma” (1998), “El césped de la luna” (2001) y “Los hijos de la mina” (2003).
His more recent published works are the literary essays “El viento derruido” and “Los años de la niebla”.
All his works, regardless of its genre, gravitate around nature and the rural world, almost in extinction in nowadays Spain.
