Synopsis: On the island of Mallorca, Bastian, a spy that has been out of the service for a while, is forced back into action, in order to locate a strange character that has everyone going crazy. It is regarding Enoc, a chemist who fled from Berkeley and who had been investigating decades ago with a drug with the power of rejuvenating but which with grave side effects for the subjects who tried it.
When Bastian locates Enoc, he finds him converted into to some sort of monk, withdrawn from the world, and this one asks him that, instead of turning him to the police, he held him destroy the hidden batch of Promise, the drug that if distributed will turn into an all out danger.
