Literary Category: police, black and suspense
Synopsis: Touré touches bottom, nothing motivates him to continue living. Pain blinds him and his desire for revenge carries him to commit actions for which he will end up being deported. What he cannot imagine is the fate that awaits him in his native Africa. There he will rediscover himself in a culture and society in which he still does not recognize himself, in spite of the fact that he no longer is the man that one day left in search of a brighter future. African hospitality is embodied in characters such as Alou, Aisha o Yakouba. They will accompany this fellow from Burkina Faso in this new period in which the leitmotiv will still be the survival instinct, especially before the great threat that looms over the protagonist, who will be forced into a frenzied flight.
Touré’s compulsory journey is the perfect alibi for Jon Arretxe to speak to us about that land he so admires, Africa. His detailed account of the daily life of its inhabitants, their traditions, allows us feel, smell and love it.
