Synopsis: When on a cold and anodyne winter day, Matilde Montenegro, a star of romantic literature long forgotten, shows up at Detective Florian Falomir’s office, the latter hardly suspects that his assignment—delivering a letter—will lead him to a labyrinth of passions that will plunge him into an orgy of sex and betrayal.
Because what initially looks like a simple job, turns into a frenzied search for the mysterious recipient of the missive, Rosal de Luna, another great diva of romance literature. From then on, the ego and fame of the two writers, queens of erotic melodrama, will be elements as important in the plot as are the enigmatic murders that need to be resolved.
From a distance, inspector Martina de Santo, the most iconic of the characters created by Juan Bolea, will give advice to a clueless Falomir in his quest to unravel the solution to a case where arrogant women and old seducers are the main protagonists, and where digging the past can bring about unforeseen consequences.
Only an author of the stature of Bolea, who can juggle genres in such a manner, could unravel so paradoxical a story, enigmatic and fun like the themes that he deals with: love, seduction, faithfulness… mixing scenes of hilarious comicality and settings saddened by grief. All of this in a hard-boiled code all whilst revealing the clues to the romantic novel.
