Spain's great dame of crime is back
Madrid's Ice Palace, fit out as a provisional morgue during the pandemic, cannot close its doors and return to its activity because the unclaimed coffin of an elderly woman prevents it. Lieutenant Salado and sergeant Jaso accompany the superstitious Judge Calvo to the preliminary inspection, which has a surprise in store: inside the coffin lies a man in a tailored suit and a gold Rolex on his wrist. What appears as a mix-up of categorization gradually introduces them into a macabre game: a string of dead bodies, each one more peculiar than the previous, all with a common signature on the death certificate: that of Dr. Paloma Padierna, a young internist in the Gregorio Marañon Hospital.
Dr. Padierna, unaware of the matter and exhausted after the hard months of work at the hospital, thinks only of her vacation. But the murderer of the perfect crimes has other plans in store for her.
