Journalist and writer, Juan Gómez-Jurado made his debut in 2006 with his first novel, Espía de Dios (God’s Spy), which achieved remarkable success and was followed by Contrato con Dios (Contract with God, 2007) and El emblema del traidor (The Traitor’s Emblem, 2008). He went on to publish La leyenda del ladrón (The Legend of the Thief, 2012), El paciente (The Patient, 2014), Cicatriz (Scar, 2015), and his recent Reina Roja (Red Queen) trilogy, which has made him the best-selling Spanish-language thriller author.
Inspired by fatherhood, he has also written several children’s and young adult book series, including those starring space adventurer Alex Colt and Amanda Black, co-authored with Bárbara Montes. Since its release, Amanda Black has consistently ranked number one on children’s and YA bestseller lists. His works have been translated into more than 40 languages.
Gómez-Jurado is also the co-creator of the popular podcasts Todopoderosos and Aquí hay dragones, which together have over half a million loyal listeners. The acclaimed author has an exclusive deal with Amazon Prime Video for the development of original series and film concepts in Spanish, becoming only the second creator in Europe to sign such an agreement with Amazon Studios.
