Lola Llatas (Valencia, 1976) is an author of children’s, young adult, and adult fiction. She holds a degree in Civil Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Valencia and considers her engineering career a fundamental part of her creative process, as it allowed her to live and work in inspiring places such as southern India —where she collaborated on a tunnel project deep in the jungle— and a mining camp in the Australian desert.
Her professional journey also took her to several European cities, including Athens, Budapest, and Nicosia, experiences that have deeply enriched her literary imagination. Five years ago, she settled in London, where she has devoted herself fully to her greatest passions: writing and illustration.
Llatas is the author of the children’s series The Mysteries of Sara and several other books for young readers, including The Inscribed Eye and Min and the Star Hunter. The remarkable reception of Bosque (Obscura, 2021), her debut adult novel, established her as one of the most promising voices in contemporary Spanish dark fantasy and horror literature.
