Carmen Amoraga (Picanya, Valencia, 1969) has a degree in Information Sciences and has worked for radio and television. She has been a columnist in various media such as Levante-EMV, Cadena Ser, Cartelera Turia, Mujer hoy or Harper's Bazaar España. She has been advisor in media relations at the University of Valencia and has been General Director of Culture and Heritage of the Generalitat Valenciana for two legislatures (2015/2023).
With her first novel, Para que nada se pierda (Algaida, 1997; Alianza, 2001), she won the II Premio de Novela Ateneo Joven de Sevilla. She has published the novels Todas las caricias (Algaida, 2000), La larga noche (Algaida 2002; Premio de la Crítica Valenciana), Algo tan parecido al amor (Destino, 2007; finalist for the Nadal award), El tiempo mientras tanto (Planeta, 2010; finalist for the Planeta award), El rayo dormido (Destino, 2012), La vida era eso (Destino, 2014) and Basta con vivir (Destino, 2017); winner of the Nadal award), as well as the compilation Palabras más, palabras menos (Centro Francisco Tomás y Valiente, 2006) and the essay Todo lo que no te contarán sobre la maternidad (Destino, 2009).
Her latest novel is El corazón imprudente (Espasa, 2023).
