Pablo Vierci (Montevideo, 1950) Uruguayan journalist and novelist, wrote The Fly Systems (1979, translated into English and Portuguese), Small Story of a Woman (1984), Behind the Trees (1987), La Sociedad de la Nieve (2009), 99% Murdered (2010), Artigas—La Redota (2011), Ellas 5 (2014) and I Had to Survive (2016, coauthored with Roberto Canessa, translated into English, Mandarin and Italian.)
He wrote the movie scripts for Aqueles dois (1958), El viñedo (The Vineyard) (1999), Matar a todos (Kill All) (2007) and Artigas—La Redota (2011), as well as the series Contámelo en colores (Tell me in Colors) (2012). He obtained on two occasions the “Premio Libro de Oro” by the Cámara Uruguaya del Libro. His scripts obtained the “Premio Fona” (1999), the “Premio al Mejor Guion” in the 29th Festival de Cine de la Habana (2007) and the “Premio Mejor Guion” in the 14th Festival de Cine de Lérida (2008). In 2003 he obtained the Citi Journalistic Excellence Award from the Columbia University of New York.
