José Antonio Gurpegui is Professor of North American Studies and Professor of North American Literature at the University of Alcalá. He was a visiting professor in the Department of Com-parative Literature at Harvard Univer-sity (1994-1996), and collaborates as a critic in El Cultural since 1988. He is the author of the novel Stop Remembering I Can’t and, among others, of the academic volumes: John Steinbeck: Writing in Eden and Hemingway and Existentialism. No Woman will Cry for Me is his second novel.
