Mariana Palova (Mariana Paola Urzúa Pulido) is a writer and digital artist born in Jalisco, Mexico, in 1990. Her visual work, a personal mix of occultism and mythology, has been nationally awarded and featured in more than fifty art exhibitions around worldwide. Her first novel (The Lord of the Sabbath: Nation of Beasts) was initially self-published in Spanish, positioning itself as a bestseller thanks to its incredible originality. Subsequently, in 2018, it was acquired by Editorial Océano México for its reissue in Spanish and by Mage's Lantern publishing house in Los Angeles for its translation and publication in English. The received Best Fantasy Book of the Year award by the prestigious Foreword Reviews in the United States, setting Mariana Palova as one of the most interesting writers of current youth literature in Latin America.
