Al sur de Santa Isabel

Year: 2002.
Editorial: Alianza.

Al sud de Santa Isabel is a novel mainly set in Guinea and one of the few examples of postcolonial literature in the Spanish and Catalan literature. Caught in between two worlds, this is the story of Tomás Rimbau, a young Catalan who spends more than 20 years in Guinea who recollects not only his personal story but also the facts that marked Guinea under the Spanish rule: the abuses of the settlers, the terror unveiled by the first riots for independence, the fights for power between the ethnic groups of bubis and fang.
