New York, 2016. The eviscerated body of the Secretary General of UN, the Pashtun Mustafa Sharif, has been discovered tied to the spire of the Chrysler Building. His murder could trigger a third world war. To figure out who committed the crime, Jim Carrera, a member of New York’s Police Department, engages the services of Allegra Herzog Farnesio, a private eye who specializes in the supernatural and who is leader of the Band—a clandestine organization that actively fights evil.

But the case turns out to be more complex than initially thought, since Sharif’s death has also unleashed an open battle between Heaven and Hell. Allegra will not only have to deal with the police’s pressure and the President of the United States, but will also bear the responsibility of avoiding the end of the world.
