“Eduardo Lores has shown from his very first creations a strong resistance

to any kind of submission whatsoever in terms of genres, canons and predeterminations. This time, whoever ventures to read Going Blank will have to wait till the very last lines to unravel the enigma of a missed love affair.”

Fernando Carvallo

Alfredo Arango, a businessman who has spent his life doing dirty deeds, looses his memory in a terrible car accident, which also takes his wife’s life. Determined to recover, he strikes a relationship with Irene Salomon, the psychologist who looks after him, who in turn accompanies him on a journey into his past which ends up leaving him even more perplexed than when he initially set out. Was it he who planned his wife’s death to inherit the family fortune? Did he kill her in order to run off with a lover? Had she discovered one of the many evil deeds from his previous life? The reader will ask himself these questions in each of the pages of Going Blank, a short novel which adds to its suggestive plot a first class prose and the descriptive efficiency of atmospheres and situations.
