La pirámide inmortal
JAVIER SIERRA'S FIRST FORAY INTO THE WORLD OF COMICS
At sunset on August 12, 1799, the still young general Napoleon Bonaparte entered the galleries of the Giza pyramid to spend the night surrounded by stones, darkness, insects and hieroglyphics. Not even those closest to him ever discovered what had happened that night, except that the general woke up transfigured. Perhaps no one asked the right questions. Or maybe (just maybe) the answer defies the natural order of things to brush one of the great desires of the human race: immortality.
In 2014, the writer Javier Sierra set out to clear up some unknowns surrounding that enigmatic event. The result was The Immortal Pyramid, a novel that addresses the Napoleonic campaign in Egypt with historical accuracy and military precision, and posits with fantastic breath a hypothesis about the events of that particular night.
Today, the screenwriter Salva Rubio (The Mauthausen photographer) and the cartoonist Cesc Dalmases (Victus) sign an exemplary adaptation that transfers the deed and the mystery of this great novel to the comic.
