Llamadme Alejandra
AZORÍN PRIZE 2017
As if they were chess pieces, the Romanov family prepares silently for a new move. Alejandra, the czarina, dreams of seeing her four daughters get married. Through the abdication of the czar, she no longer has big ambitions for her little Alexis, more like a tranquil life and cut off from the world. She misses her friend Rasputin, the man that understood her best after her beloved Nikki. In her final resting place and with nothing else to do except to await her liberation, Alejandra satisfies her daughters’ curiosity about her past. In this way she reconstructs a life marked by misfortune, but also full of happiness, because the love that she and Nikki had, and which they transmitted to their children, was the bastion that kept them together until their tragic end.
