Muerte dulce

Balmaseda, 1683. Pedro Urtiaga has just been poisoned. In his last hours of life he writes to his friend, Doctor Zuñiga, announcing his imminent death and begging the latter to revenge him. The latter will travel to the Basque country in search of the murder’s identity. He will soon discover that the death of his friend is not only related to wine, but also with a new game of cards: Mus.

Ancestral legends, women in love and false appearances will get tangled up in this plot—where events occur in quick succession, offering no truce to the reader—, free of artifice and a magnetic, polished prose.
