A richly gothic tale of a buried crime of passion. Fernando, a film director, is reunited by chance with Andrea, now an antiques dealer, who is engaged in sorting through the belongings of her recently deceased aunt. As Fernando and Andrea sift through the scraps of ephemera, they seek to substantiate Andrea's claim that her aunt had murdered her wealthy husband and gone on to a colorful life abroad.
