The Writer and the Spy
Pretend like a poet, write like a spy.
Every novel holds a mystery: the author, like a secret agent, encodes their thoughts within the pages, and only the most perceptive readers can uncover their true meaning. That’s exactly what happens to Daniel, a translator from Madrid who has just arrived in Berlin to investigate a strange book whose origins trace back to 1980s Germany—when the Stasi was watching everything, including the circles of young poets.
Once in Germany, he meets Hans, an eccentric publisher, and his enigmatic daughter Sarah. Thanks to them, long-buried secrets begin to surface—secrets tied to a group of creative writing students in East Berlin. Gradually, Daniel finds himself caught in what appears to be a trap, forced to decode messages from the past in order to unravel the present.
The Writer and the Spy blends the suspense of spy thrillers with a powerful love story—above all, a love for writing.
